“The times, they are a-changin’.” Bob Dylan’s lyrics hit at the heart of the inevitable - change. With every hour of the clock, every day, year, generation, things are changing. Minds are changing. Technology is changing. Society is changing.
Our 2017 theme “Improve the Time” gives us a chance not only to explore the challenges our generation faces as it rises up, but also to shine the light of improvement into all areas of our world. We want to address our struggles and emphasize and encourage our positive progress.
This year we are focusing on ideas that in some way highlight or propose improvements to our society. Specifically, improvements being done by, or directly related to the rising generation of youth. Talks can span a variety of topics, highlighting cultural issues, scientific breakthroughs, literary brilliance, and so much more. While talks should fit under the theme, feel free to draw from personal experience, be that the humanities, or the sciences.
“Never believe that a few caring people can’t change the world. For, indeed, that’s all who ever have.” -- anthropologist Margaret Mead
